Tarbert, Loch Fyne, is host to several popular Festival events and 2013 saw the Tarbert Book Festival become another annual fixture in the calendar of the picturesque, Scottish west coast village.
Taking place in the late autumn exclusively at Stonefield Castle Hotel, this celebration of books and reading has seen a wide range of writers, mainly Scottish, coming to appear at this popular literary weekend. Fiction, non-fiction, crime, poetry and comic art have all featured in previous programmes.
In 2015, the events for children and young people moved to Tarbert Academy. This collaboration allowed us to co-host free events for pupils and fulfil one of the main aims of the inception of the festival, namely, a life-long love of reading in all its myriad formats.
The Saturday evening event, ‘the Stonefield Sessions’, has seen some of the finest Scottish crime writers grace a TBF stage and is a particular favourite with the local audience.
After a few years of dormancy thanks to lockdowns, and our return last year, we are really excited to put on this years Festival once again.
